Dammit, I think Mom infected me with her Cold of Doom -- my throat feels like knives again and that is never a good sign, even if thus far everything else is okay. It's possible this is just a reaction to the Coke I drank with lunch, but I am not feeling very optimistic. :-( I took a two and a half hour nap this afternoon, and am very glad it's the end of Daylight Saving Time (yay, an extra hour of sleep!), but I have a terrible feeling I will have to bail on teaching RE again, and that really annoys me. I guess I can teach the next two weeks in compensation, but even so. Once is bad luck. Twice looks like I'm skiving off. *shakes tiny fist of rage at viral infestations*
Anyway, I preemptively cooked a whole week's worth of dinners tonight: two chicken thighs baked with Italian salad dressing marinade accompanied by steamed green beans; stir fry with two chicken thighs, half an onion, an orange bell pepper, and three tiny jalapeno peppers (alas, my neighbors picked all the others before I could get to them! and also my zucchini went gooey-weird while I was sick and unable to face cooking after work) lightly flavored with garlic powder because why not; and another batch of stir-fry with two chicken thighs, half an onion, a red bell pepper, and a small summer squash, flavored with soy sauce because yum. I have sealed my creations up neatly in plastic containers and they are waiting in the fridge for me to reheat them whenever I want.
Tonight's dinner, however, is going to be the remains of my burger and fries from yesterday. I am going to go heat that up now... and make a pot of tea, I think, rather than try to drink any of our leftover wine. *sigh*
I hate being sick.

Date: 2013-11-03 03:48 am (UTC)Well, I rarely have the patience to cook something from scratch when I get home from work -- I am more like, "Ugh. So tired. Need food. NOW," and anything that takes more than ten minutes to make is too long -- and being sick makes cooking even less likely, so if I wanted to get these meals made before the vegetables rotted and the chicken went bad, I had to do it now while I had the time and energy. Therefore, the Day of Cooking!
I am going to sleep so hard tonight, you have no idea. (Drugs may be involved. >_> )
