edenfalling

Some animal bit one of my baby peppers off its stem yesterday. I have no idea what happened to that one... but the same animal or one of its compatriots in crime bit off another pepper this afternoon, and I found that one half-buried in the soil of a neighboring pot.

I brought it in, washed it, and stuck it in the fridge for the moment. I’m not sure what to do with it, really. It’s nowhere near ripe, and it’s tiny. Also covered in tooth-marks.

But hey, look, I have a pepper. *wry*

It's a glossy, handsome (if small) green pepper. But having been chewed by local wildife maybe has done its dash for culinary use? (Otherwise green peppers go cheerfully enough into fried rice, or anything similar. If you get one un-pre-chewed.)

I might steam it and use it as additive dog food, come to think of it. My mom is into jazzing up Dottie's meals, so I've already been cooking and chopping broccoli stems that I would normally compost. It wouldn't be hard to do the same with a miniature pepper. :-)

They are cute when they're so small, aren't they? :-)

I ended up slicing it, frying it a bit, and adding it to Dottie's dinner. She thought it was delicious.
