Meredith Ann Pierce's Darkangel trilogy is one of my tiny fandoms of the heart, and I am always SO PLEASED when people talk about it, to say nothing of when they create fanworks for it. And on that note,
aishuu has posted a lovely post-canon ficlet about Irrylath, which you should go read immediately!
When Morning Comes: Irrylath shifts from mourning to morning. Despite what he may have wished, Irrylath is still alive and life goes on without Aeriel. (476 words)
...
The fandom now has two pages on AO3! Which, okay, granted, is only 21 works over the past seven years, but still. 21 works! And I know for a fact there is at least one other extant Darkangel ficlet not on AO3, because
minutia_r wrote it for me in the most recent Three Sentence Ficathon. Which makes 22 works! It is a living fandom, goshdarnit. People occasionally write stuff for it just because. And that's more than an awful lot of Yuletide-eligible fandoms ever manage. :-)

Date: 2015-05-06 03:10 am (UTC)I should pull out the file for the "things that didn't happen to Aeriel, Irrylath, and Erin" fic I was sort of vaguely drafting years ago, and see if I can remember anything of what I had planned...
