Three tiny and mostly translucent baby spiders just para-sailed into my face.

Yep. That time of year again. *sigh*

(They are now squished and dead, for the record. My treaty with the spiders that share my apartment only holds so long as they refrain from physical contact and also don't startle me while I'm taking a shower. If they get into places I don't want them, I will do my best to live trap them and release them onto the porch (or the foyer or maybe the top of a bookcase in my front room during the depths of winter, because I'm not completely heartless), but I have a very strong KILL IT WITH FIRE!!! reaction to small many-legged creatures that touch my skin, and I'm not going to lose sleep over a handful of what is clearly a large and thriving hatchling cohort every damn year.)

Yeah, I'm not signing up with the Jains any time soon. You come into my personal space, you better be my husband, a blood relation, or a close friend, and spiders do not qualify.

e: although technically I do have cats. Can I get them in as "close, incredibly obnoxious friends"?

I think pets count as family in the emotional bond sense, though if they're your actual blood relations something very strange is going on. ;-)

Well, it could be worse! They could do their parasailing in my bedroom instead of the room where I keep my computer... :D
