wherein Liz talks about work

The health garage front office has been a little crazy this week, for various reasons. First, the new computer system is FINALLY going live on Monday, even though the front office (and business office) patches won't be ready until late January, which meant a lot of last minute data entry. I picked up an extra eight hours making sure our kludgy financial information workaround (aka, manually updated Word docs) was in place and up to date. Second, Misty put in her two weeks' notice and had her last day today; her replacement got one day of training on Thursday and will be starting more-or-less cold on Monday. Third, we learned this week that Sugar Boss is NOT coming back from maternity leave; instead, Underboss will officially move into her position while Prickles moves into Underboss's place. Fourth, there are two new counselors who are being phased into rotation over the next two weeks.
So that will all be very interesting!
On a tangential but related note, I had three hours of paid training for Not the IRS on Wednesday morning, and need to do some more paid training from home via the web this weekend, because I have to get through a couple instructional modules before the instructor-led session next Wednesday. This will also be interesting!
...
I am very out of practice at working full time. I don't think I will really be working proper full time hours, even once Not the IRS gets into full swing, but I'm going to lose a bunch of free time and that will be -- yes, say it with me -- interesting to readjust to.
But for now, I am just going to bed. Mmm, delicious sleep...

Date: 2015-12-06 02:31 am (UTC)I have a feeling Monday will be a madhouse, but presumably we will get used to the new system and new staff. I know more or less where to find all the reports and stuff I need to print and collate each evening, but I still need to ask Underboss where to find consents attached to various clients' files, so I know whether I can even admit their existence to people on the phone. (HIPAA regulations are Serious Business.)
