fourteen pepper sprouts, 12:30pm, April 9th

This photo taken approximately 12:30pm on Saturday 4/9/16. As you can see, fourteen of eighteen seeds have sprouted (the slowpokes are helpfully marked with little black/gray stars), and I am quite pleased at this rate of progress. :)

(Admittedly, the middle sprout in the leftmost column has not managed to crack its seed coat and its cotyledons are therefore unable to unfurl, but if it's still trapped on Monday, I will rescue it with nail scissors and attempt not to mutilate it in the process.)

Good to see! Though from this angle they look disturbingly like small iced cakes with chocolate sprinkles on top.

They do look deeply weird, don't they? But they should supposedly make repotting much simpler, because the outer wrapper is also dirt/peat/whatever so I can just pop the whole thing into a pot without having to worry about removing a small plant with delicate roots from a seedling container. :)
