what is sleep
Apr. 13th, 2016 10:47 pmI worked twelve hours today. (Which is really fourteen hours, counting my commute.) Half an hour before closing, I got a call from Plaza Boss asking if I could work twelve hours again tomorrow, because someone in district management thought our schedule looked too crowded and wanted extra staff. I said yes. I am also scheduled to work twelve hours on Friday, eleven on Saturday, and six on Sunday -- and I may get dragged into working Monday as well.

Date: 2016-04-14 05:52 pm (UTC)That said, it does look stressful working all those hours but for now, keep telling yourself it's gainful employment!
I don't know what's worse, dealing with tax issues or trying to file for unemployment (I just started that today and it's been a pain because my last two jobs did not issue payroll like most companies and I'm trying to get all the paperwork to fax to the labor office. Sigh.).

Date: 2016-04-14 07:49 pm (UTC)Filing for unemployment is never exactly fun, but I think the exact degree of unfun depends very much on one's home state. ...And it occurs to me that I might as well try to file once tax day is past, since I think I've worked enough this season to qualify for at least something, and that would be very helpful as a buffer while I hunt for yet another job. *sigh*
Good luck battling the dept. of labor!

Date: 2016-04-15 01:43 am (UTC)And I'm filing unemployment in NY, so not fun. Still waiting for my last startup to give me their employer ID and a paystub (this is what happens when the boss pays you directly instead of a much preferred W2 and using the normal payroll system).
