Because if you met God, you'd have a list of questions and suggestions, and Narnia is pretty much all about that?

One night when I was about seventeen, I postulated the existence of a Christian god (generic Protestant variation) solely so I could argue at him for several hours. It was very cathartic. (And then I made some complimentary noises about sunsets and mountains and forested lakes for a bit at the end, because if one is giving blame, one ought to also give credit. *wry*)

I am just sort of annoyed at my continuing inability to write pure undiluted fluff -- somehow I always seem to end up mixing in some plot or angst or moral dilemmas. *sigh* One day, though! One day I will triumph!

Oh, I absolutely blame Lewis. I blame him for all KINDS of things. Many of which he is even guilty of! *headdesk*

I find Narnia fic generally always descends into "well, Lewis says Aslan isn't a dick, but ...."

Reason #2057 I rarely write Narnia fic.

There are definitely reasons why an awful lot of my Narnia fic is set outside the borders of Narnia-the-country, and why Aslan only very rarely appears...

The part that annoys me most is that Lewis/the narrative doesn't recognize when Aslan is being a dick, and instead claims that those actions are just as Good and Right as his non-dickish moments. :(
