Will It Rain?: The driest March to June on record

This fakeout just happened again -- a beautiful north-south line of thunderstorms approached from the west, and right as it hit Ithaca, it thinned and split with the gap precisely over the city. I can see blue sky out my kitchen windows and the scattered raindrop splotches on my back porch are already almost dry.

I mean, a thunderstorm is not the kind of rain we need anyway, but at least it would have been SOMETHING. But nope. No rain for you!

Ithaca is over 6.5 inches of rain short for the year so far, the whole region has passed from 'abnormally dry' into 'moderate drought,' and this is really getting distressing. :(

*whistles* Yikes. My OH city was like that just due to geography, but having it happen without a ridge in the way makes a body think grim thoughts about gremlins. And also ice.

:( I'm sorry to hear it, and hope the real rain comes soon.

You're getting a repeat of our last summer.
On our side of the pond, it's thankfully a bit better this year, though apparently not by that much. I can certainly tell we had an abnormally dry June (again? I can't remember last June anymore.) June tends to be drippy in these parts. Not this year. Where has all the water GONE TO?!

Last year, me & my sister saw rocks in the Doubravka we'd never seen before, and we've been visiting for most of our lives. That also was weird and wrong. It's this little river in a rocky valley - I ought to share this year's photos, because it's my Real Life River Rush. :D
(This year, we went earlier in the summer, and were caught in a thunderstorm, which was also new, but a lot better on that front!)
