stuff done: Wednesday-Friday

1. Applied to two jobs. One emailed back an interview request, and I have set up an appointment for Monday morning. It's not the most exciting job in the world, and is also sadly part-time rather than full-time, but hey, something is better than nothing! And it's always nice to get any kind of response after what feels like eons of sending applications into the void. I checked bus schedules to make sure I'll get there in plenty of time, and will poke around the company website tomorrow. (...I should also make sure my laptop is talking to my printer, since I'll want to bring some copies of my resume. Right. That goes on tomorrow's list.)
2. Completed the first of my continuing education tax courses. I also received a list of the live actual-teacher-in-actual-classroom events Not the IRS is hosting in my district, and will sign up for a few of them this weekend once I figure out how to find them on the training website.
3. Cooked two batches of veggie sidedish (after an emergency grocery store run, because one of my yellow squash had a thick ring of brown rot all the way through, ugh), fried three chicken drumsticks in Italian salad dressing (this is delicious; you should try it), and baked a pan of brownies. Yay food security!
4. Dumped all the resulting food scraps into the compost bin out back, which Upstairs Neighbor E moved from the curb into the yard after the old one was picked up and the empty replacement dropped off.
5. Read and commented on the last fic in the main Ladystuck Remix archive. Now, onward to the three fics in the Treats archive!
6. Cut my fingernails and toenails. Blargh, bodies.
7. Read this week's and last week's Ithaca Times, which I sometimes forget to do after I pick up a copy.
8. Returned two library books.
9. Organized my bottom tupperware drawer -- by which I mean I cut the lids off two shoeboxes and used them both to sort containers into a more efficient use of space and to keep them from sliding around willy-nilly. I did something similar to my chest of drawers a while back, but I kept not quite getting around to the kitchen portion of the project... until today. Victory is mine! \o/
10. Looked up local liquor stores online and drove to two of them in search of box wine. I feel a little silly buying box wine when I live in a region that produces actual award-winning wines and created the first wine trail in New York, but I am in tight financial circumstances right now and box wine is very cheap. (In a stroke of luck, it turns out the store that does carry box wine is on a bus route I am familiar with, so I will still be able to get there after I return my parents' Camry at Thanksgiving.)
11. Texted Susan, Cat, and Vicky to schedule phone calls, which I find works better for all of us than calling randomly and playing phone tag for days. I try to do this at least once a month, because all four of us are terrible at maintaining contact -- to the point where, if I don't organize calls, we never talk at all. I like talking to my friends and sister, so I suck it up and do the requisite social labor. *wry* Anyway, I have a firm time for Susan, but Cat is still up in the air and I haven't heard back from Vicky yet.
12. Banged together a rough sketch outline for my NFE fic and added about 200 actual words of fiction to the story. I need to poke at the outline some more until I can wrangle a scene by scene breakdown out of it, and then get to proper work.
13. Cleaned my bathroom sink, because it was getting a little scuzzy.
14. Took and posted photos of my peppers in between my regular weekly pepper updates, because they are just SO CUTE and I wanted to share that with the world.
Now if you will excuse me, I am going to go drink some box wine. :)
