stuff done: Wednesday-Friday

edenfalling1. ACCEPTED A JOB OFFER!!!
2. Put away the food I cooked on Tuesday and dumped the resulting scraps into the compost bin.
3. Returned two library books on their actual due date instead of forgetting and running up another fine. (I tend to either return books within three days of borrowing them, or hold them through the automatic renewal and then still get them back two to five days late. I don't really have a middle ground. *sigh*)
4. Third mandatory TC Workforce unemployment counseling meeting, where I was able to proudly announce the aforementioned ACCEPTING A JOB OFFER. My counselor was duly congratulatory.
5. Edited another NFE fic for somebody who is not me. As with the one I edited earlier in the week, it's a good fic and I think y'all will like it. This is shaping up to be another good year for the exchange. :)
6. Went to Best Buy to get advice about what seemed to be a battery problem with my laptop. It turned out that the battery itself is fine. The problem is the power cord, which apparently got fucked up by a surge during a thunderstorm while I was in NJ returning Dottie a few weeks ago. It's still kinda-sorta working -- I can run my laptop off network power when it's plugged in, and it will charge the battery... but only when the computer is otherwise shut down. When it stops being able to manage even that, I will buy a new cord.
(Actually I might buy a new one in a few weeks anyway, after I receive a couple paychecks and therefore have a tiny sliver of disposable income. I already bought a new mouse to replace my old one, which still worked fine but which had begun leaking the sticky goo that made its sides pleasantly squishy, and there's only so long that a strip of packing tape can paper over that problem. *sigh*)
7. Bought groceries. I now have a 20 cents/gallon discount on gas (Tops, my grocery chain, has a gas station attached to each store) until next Saturday. Normally this loyalty card benefit is of no use to me, but when I have custody of a car, it is very handy.
8. Watered my peppers, which were getting thirsty. Stupid drought.
9. Managed to completely fuck up my sleep schedule and consequently got nothing else done because I was too brain-friend when awake to manage anything requiring complex thought. *sigh*
I made a start on unfucking my sleep schedule last night, and hopefully I will be able to get it fully back on track by Monday. With a bit of luck, this will give me the spoons to get some necessary stuff done over the weekend. *crosses fingers*
