stuff done: Sunday-Thursday

edenfalling1. Washed laundry, dried laundry, put laundry away.
2. Changed linens.
3. Took recycling bins to the curb for pickup. Brought them back in Monday morning, and consolidated the stuff that didn't get taken (because it was frozen to the bins, argh) into a single bin.
4. Made a packing list.
5. Photographed my peppers. Two days later, harvested two of them.
6. Reconciled my credit card statements. (I paid the bills last week but didn't get around to cross-checking the receipts for a few days.)
7. Took compost to the outdoor bin several times.
8. Attended my church's annual solstice ceremony, which is basically sitting in a circle listening to various readings, lighting candles at a symbolic moment, and getting a free narcissus bulb and snacks. Also there's some music and communal sharing of our fears and hopes for the new year.
There were extra bulbs this year, so I actually made off with six of them. I think that after they bloom and wither this winter, I will take them outdoors and plant them in the back yard, near Upstairs Neighbor E's raspberry canes. Then maybe I will get spring flowers as a repeatable event!
In the meantime they are sitting in a shallow dish, propped up with some rocks to keep them from tipping sideways, and with water around their bases. That will probably evaporate before I get back to Ithaca, but bulbs are tough. I think they'll do fine until I can pot them next week.
9. Deposited my end-of-year bonus check from the rental office. (I was not expecting that! I am also grateful; things were going to be tight over the next couple weeks without it.)
10. Packed for my trip.
11. Finished my Daredevil Secret Santa fic. It is not yet edited (Vicky has agreed to look it over for me), and also I just realized this afternoon that I need to insert a whole extra scene for both time progression and character arc purposes, but even so. The rough draft exists and is posted in the collection. \o/
12. Prepped my apartment for my absence.
13. Caught a bus to New Jersey.
14. Edited my Yuletide fic, as per beta recommendations. :)
15. Added a label and some ribbon to Vicky's present (which Mom had transported to NJ earlier in the month) and wrapped Susan's present, which I just had shipped directly to Madison to save logistical headaches.
And now I think I will try tackling that missing scene in my DDSS fic, because it will be easier for Vicky to edit a complete work than a work with a gaping hole in the middle. *wry*

I added the missing scene, and I fixed (or semi-gracefully handwaved) two things that needed some concrete research, but now I am trying to make sure I have all my foreshadowing in place and that the consequences shake out in a logical fashion. *sigh*
