1. Watered houseplants.

2. Photographed my pepper and narcissus. That is going to be my last 2016 pepper project photo for the foreseeable future, since I doubt the Lazarus pepper's one remaining bud will ever actually amount to anything.

3. Put away laundry that was air-drying since Sunday afternoon.

4. Reheated and repackaged my chicken-carrot glop.

5. Shoveled the east and north sidewalks.

6. Cut my fingernails.

7. Attended a really awesome concert after work on Tuesday.

8. Began editing "Second Chances" (my Daredevil Secret Santa fic) since I ran out of time to get that story pulled together to my own satisfaction in December.

9. Called Vicky Wednesday night and chatted for nearly an hour.

10. Chopped onions and put beef in the refrigerator to thaw Wednesday night, in preparation for cooking stuff on Thursday.

11. Took resulting compost to the communal bin.

12. Rescheduled my blood donation appointment yet again, argh, because I STILL have not shaken the not-quite-cold I've been dragging around for weeks. Ugh, winter. My new appointment is for noon on Thursday the 16th, at a church in my neighborhood where I have donated several times before. I have tweaked my Not the IRS availability to make sure my work schedule can't get adjusted to conflict with my appointment.

13. Decided to split this week's grocery run into two parts: today was for eggs, cherry strudel (I am chronically weak against cherry strudel), and best of all... PEPPER SEEDS! :DDD

I think it's still a little early in the year to plant the seeds -- the days are still awfully short -- but I definitely want to get them started by March, so... maybe next weekend? It can be kind of symbolic: I plant the seeds on my own birthday. *wry*

14. Boiled a dozen eggs.

15. Dumped pre-chopped pepper and onion into crockpot, plus the ~1.5lb of thawed beef. Dressed it up with a packet of Ortega spicy taco seasoning, some additional spices (cumin, chipotle chili pepper, oregano, garlic powder), and a cube of chicken bouillon because why not. I turned on the crockpot around 10:30pm, and it's going to cook on low until I get up in the morning, by which time the beef should have completely fallen apart. We shall see how it ends up tasting. :)

16. Attempted to make two political phone calls; in one case, the line was busy, and in the other, the mailbox was full. I will have to work up to calling during actual office hours instead of late at night. It can't possibly be worse than calling Not the IRS clients and asking them to schedule tax prep appointments for the current year.

(Nobody likes getting tax appointment calls. The number of people I call who pull some variation of, 'oh no I can't talk now, I'm, uh, driving my car, I'll totally call you back later,' is frankly hilarious. Seriously, if you're so worried about being on the phone while 'driving,' why did you pick up in the first place? (The champion of this excuse was a woman I called four or five times last year, all at completely different hours of the day, and who was always 'in the car right now, I'll call you back soon,' and then of course never called back.) Like, if you don't want to talk to us, just say, 'Sorry, not interested this year' or 'I don't want to schedule anything now; I'll walk in when I'm ready.' We will leave you alone if you do that! I promise!)

17. Backed up my files onto my external hard drive.

I feel like I should make a time-travel joke but I can't think of one clever enough.
