stuff done: Tuesday-Thursday

1. Cut my fingernails.
2. Asked rental office bosses about getting a week off in late June. They said that should be okay, so... I may actually get to Cass Lake this year!!! \o/
3. Took more photographs of the hearts. I generally like my new phone a lot, but its camera has a really annoying autofocus function -- as in, it doesn't focus. This means I have to spend a bunch of time moving the phone around in small increments and waiting for the image to unblur, and even then half the time it blurs again before I can snap the photo. *sigh* There is probably a way to fix this, but I haven't fiddled around enough with the camera to find it yet.
I think I still need one more photo (I thought I had a closeup of the heart in question, but apparently not) and then I can start the hard and annoying work of sorting, editing, and posting them to imgur.
4. Emptied Damocles's pot and cleaned it thoroughly.
5. Refastened the loose button on my gray pants.
6. Changed my kitchen sponge, since the old one had been getting kind of scuzzy and scrubbing the spider-plant pot finally did it in.
7. Backed up my hard drive.
8. Finished reading through the worship books I borrowed from the DRE, and returned them to church Thursday night.
9. Finished reading Elizabeth Marie Pope's The Perilous Gard, which is generally a good book, except the portrayal of (fictional) pre-Christian British religion is... hmm... caught uncomfortably between a semi-realistic attempt to show a religious tradition turned inward and cult-like over centuries of secrecy and isolation, and sensationalist Othering via things like human sacrifice, Blue and Orange morality, and the Fairy Folk's use of and involvement with genuinely supernatural/magical elements when there are no corresponding supernatural interventions from any other religious tradition.
I may make a more detailed post about that in the next few days.
10. Bought applesauce and a few other grocery items.
11. Thawed and cooked three tilapia fillets. I didn't need them for dinner today (and not for tomorrow either), but they are now ready for use this weekend, when I will probably not want to bother cooking anything.
12. Stewardship committee meeting Thursday night. I have agreed to talk to somebody about possible door prize donations for our pledge drive dinner, and starting next week we will be mailing out campaign letters and pledge cards, and getting ready to make a bunch of phone calls.
13. Got to work rewriting my Cotton Candy Bingo fic, as per my realization that the characters needed to be nicer in general. I have managed to salvage and reuse a bunch of existing dialogue, just tweaked a bit so everyone's friendly rather than annoyed, and I have also tweaked a bit of scene-setting so there is now an obvious physical way to conclude the fic when I get there, instead of having it vaguely peter off into awkward silence. :)

Date: 2017-02-27 04:51 am (UTC)Unfortunately, the packaging wasn't all they changed. I liked the store-brand applesauce because it was a little coarser and more tart-flavored than Mott's and other name-brand applesauces. And I guess they wanted to be more like the name-brand ones? Because the new version of the store-brand applesauce is just as mushy-fine and sickly-sweet (even without added sugar) as the name-brand applesauces I have disliked for years. :(
I think I need to find a new morning fruit option. This is not going to be easy...
