They started the sedation drip as they wheeled me to the OR; I remember arriving, noticing the nifty overhead lights and that the room was cool, bright , drafty, and more cluttered with stuff and machines than I expected. Then I have a blank in my memory until I was back in my recovery cubicle and someone asked me if I wanted some juice.

Initially my wrist and hand were completely numb, but that has worn off and they are now sore -- a deep soreness, not a surface soreness -- and itchy.

I have some use of my left fingers, but moving them more than the barest wiggle tends to make my wrist throb so I am trying not to. For instance, I have typed this post one-handed... with extensive backspacing. *headdesk*

Now Mom and I are waiting for my laundry to dry, after which I think the plan is groceries, dinner, and bed. :)

I hope you got your groceries, dinner, and bed, and are not straining yourself. I don't actually know what your surgery is for, and I am a little worried that you're working/typing!

Anyway, you don't have to respond to this, just letting you know I'm thinking of you and praying for you. (Lot of people around me need medical prayer right now. It's a worry.)

I had carpal tunnel remediation on my left wrist -- the plan is to do my right wrist in anout a month once my left wrist has recovered fully. It's as simple and reliable as surgery gets, I think, and right now it's just sore and awkward trying to shower with one hand wrapped in a plastic bag to keep the bandages dry.

Also typing one-handed is super annoying when you're used to touch typing, grr argh.
