twelve peppers, Monday, 12 September 2016
As you can see, all twelve plants are alive and healthy. Yay! The Lazarus pepper continues to grow... though I think I should give it a shot of fertilizer; it's not as deep a shade of green as I'd like. The poor beheaded pepper is preparing to bloom, and now the buds are large enough that I was able to get a clear photo of them.
Next up, when squirrels attack. *ominous music plays*
As you can see, this poor plant was a little too close to the porch railing (aka, squirrel superhighway), and consequently the two peppers furthest along in development got munched. This is particularly annoying because squirrels don't even LIKE peppers; they never finish eating them and just leave the corpses of dismembered fruit at the scene of the crime. :(
Fortunately the plant had other itty-bitty baby fruit, and there are still several yet-to-bloom buds in case of further setbacks. I have also moved all the pots a few inches further away from the rail.
And now I'm just going to spam you with photos of tiny bell peppers, because they are adorable and because I can. :D
